The NFSC in UGC NET Form stands for ‘National Fellowship Scheme for Scheduled Castes’.
Objective of NFSC in UGC NET
The objective is to provide financial assistance to SC category students to pursue their higher studies in the following streams:
  • Sciences
  • Humanities and Social Sciences
Scope of NFSC in UGC NET
The scheme provides 500 science and 1500 Humanities and social sciences scholarships each year for JRFs.
Eligibility for NFSC in UGC NET
The students applying for the scheme must have cleared one of the following tests:
  • NET-JRF
  • UGC-CSIR
Duration of UGC NET Fellowship
  • M.Phil: 2 Years
  • Ph.D: 5 Years 
  • M.Phil + Ph.D: 5 Years

  • These slots are not included in the normal reservation category for SC students.
